Counselling & Psychotherapy
Counselling and psychotherapy are forms of “talking therapy” in which a trained professional helps you explore and overcome personal difficulties in a confidential, non-judgmental, and safe space. The counsellor’s role is to listen, provide emotional support, and help you develop self-awareness and new coping strategies, rather than simply offering advice. This type of therapy can support individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, low self-esteem, and many other emotional challenges.
What Counselling Can Help With
Counselling can support individuals experiencing bereavement, relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, or challenges related to habits or behaviours. It can also assist with work-related stress and issues involving sexuality or gender identity.
What Happens in Counselling
Counselling involves open and honest conversation about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a trained counsellor. The process encourages self-exploration, helping you gain clarity and a deeper understanding of the challenges you face. The aim is to help you discover your own solutions and develop effective ways to cope or manage difficulties. Sessions are confidential, providing a safe and supportive environment to express yourself freely.
How Counselling Can Be Delivered
At Addlestone Therapy, we offer one-to-one counselling, providing a private and personal space to work directly with a dedicated therapist.
Nikki Della-Rocca
What to Expect
You will be offered a free 15-minute phone call to discuss your reasons for seeking counselling. If you decide to work together, regular sessions will be arranged and a counselling agreement will be established. Sessions can take place weekly or fortnightly, either face-to-face in Addlestone, remotely, or as ‘walk and talk’ sessions upon request. You will have a consistent, safe, and supportive space where you are heard and respected. Your progress will be reviewed regularly, and therapy will continue for as long as you need. Nikki works at your pace, helping you reach your personal goals.
Issues I Can Help With
Nikki supports individuals experiencing relationship difficulties and repeating patterns in relationships, depression and feelings of being stuck, anxiety and overwhelm, and grief or challenges processing loss. She also helps with issues related to motivation, procrastination, low self-worth, and challenges in living authentically or feeling disconnected and unfulfilled.
