Maternity Reflexology
Reflexology is a safe and effective treatment during pregnancy.
It brings relief from many of the aches and pains associated with pregnancy. However, it is not recommended during the first trimester if there is a history of unstable pregnancies, premature labour, severe hypertension, placenta previa or recent vaginal bleeding.
Reflexology may help with the following conditions common in pregnancy:
Back ache | Heartburn and acid reflux |
Headaches | Stress and anxiety |
Sciatica | Low energy levels |
Restless arm/leg syndrome | Hormonal imbalances / mood swings |
Oedema (water retention) | Nausea and vomiting |
Insomnia | Symphysis pubis dysfunction |
Constipation | turning a breech baby |
Inducing Labour
Reflexology may be used to try and induce labour in the 41st week of pregnancy. Helen will use powerful techniques to stimulate the endocrine system and uterus to encourage the birthing process to start.
Postnatal Reflexology
Reflexology treatments after the birth will help the body relax and regain equilibrium. It may also help with the following conditions:
Insomnia | Postnatal depression |
Stress and anxiety | Hormonal imbalances |
Inadequate lactation | Engorged breasts |
Reflexology aids healing to the whole body – it treats the root of the problem and not just the prevailing symptoms.
